Description
We are seeking an organised, proactive, and dedicated SEND Administrator to join a thriving school trust supporting multiple schools across Birmingham. This is a part-time position and would suit an individual with strong administrative skills and experience working within an educational setting, particularly supporting Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
As part of the role, you will provide administrative support to SEND teams across the trust, helping to ensure accurate record-keeping, effective communication, and smooth day-to-day operations. Due to the nature of the role and travel requirements between schools, a driver with access to their own vehicle is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing administrative support to SEND departments across the trust.
- Maintaining and updating pupil records, including assessment and SEND-related data.
- Creating and managing spreadsheets and databases.
- Filing, scanning, shredding, and organising confidential documentation.
- Booking meetings and managing calendars for SEND staff.
- Taking accurate minutes during meetings and distributing notes as required.
- Liaising professionally with parents, carers, school staff, and external agencies.
- Supporting the preparation and maintenance of SEND documentation and reports.
- Using school management systems to ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage a varied workload across multiple school sites.
You will have:
- Previous administrative experience within a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of SEND processes and procedures.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience using school management systems such as Arbor and EduKey.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Experience updating pupil records and assessment data.
- Confidence liaising with parents, carers, staff, and external professionals.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (highly desirable).
