Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary school in the B16 (Ladywood/Edgbaston) area for an experienced Nursery Teaching Assistant (Level 6) to join their Early Years team from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established Early Years setting, supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality provision in line with the EYFS framework. You will play a key role in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing in a nurturing and engaging environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS activities
- Assisting with the observation, assessment and recording of children’s progress
- Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
- Promoting a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Supporting children’s social, emotional and behavioural development
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Requirements
- Level 6 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or equivalent (essential)
- Qualification must be recognised on the DfE Early Years approved qualifications list (essential)
- Previous experience working within a Nursery or EYFS setting
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Have a genuine passion for Early Years education
