Nursery Teaching Assistant – Ladywood, Birmingham

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive primary school in the B16 (Ladywood/Edgbaston) area for an experienced Nursery Teaching Assistant (Level 6) to join their Early Years team from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established Early Years setting, supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality provision in line with the EYFS framework. You will play a key role in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing in a nurturing and engaging environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS activities
• Assisting with the observation, assessment and recording of children’s progress
• Providing 1:1 and small group support where required
• Promoting a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
• Supporting children’s social, emotional and behavioural development
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents

Requirements

• Level 6 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or equivalent (essential)
• Qualification must be recognised on the DfE Early Years approved qualifications list (essential)
• Previous experience working within a Nursery or EYFS setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, caring and proactive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
