SEN Teaching Assistant
Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-respected primary school in Birmingham, seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
Location: Birmingham
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Temporary with potential for longer-term opportunities
About the role
Supply Heroes are looking for an experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a well-established school in the Birmingham area. You will need to have experience working with students with special needs such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia etc. The school values, honesty and putting the child first must be something that you align with.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assisting with personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
- Helping pupils develop confidence, independence, and key skills
- Managing behaviour positively and calmly
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

- Experience working in SEND settings or supporting children with additional needs
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient nature
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs
- A proactive and reliable approach
