Supply Heroes are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and proactive Pastoral Lead to join our primary school community in Quinton. This is a key leadership role focused on supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and personal development of pupils across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure all students are fully supported to achieve their potential both academically and personally.

You will play a vital role in promoting a positive school culture, ensuring safeguarding standards are met, and providing targeted interventions for students who may be facing barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on pastoral care, behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding support systems
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student wellbeing and engagement
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Work closely with families to improve communication and outcomes for students
  • Support staff with behaviour management strategies and pastoral concerns
  • Liaise with external agencies including social care, CAMHS, and early help services
  • Monitor attendance, behaviour data, and pastoral interventions
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and respectful school environment

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in pastoral care, education, youth work, or safeguarding roles
  • Confident in managing behaviour and supporting vulnerable students
  • Highly empathetic, approachable, and resilient under pressure
  • Strong in communication and relationship-building with young people and families
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures and child protection
  • Organised with the ability to manage a varied and fast-paced workload
  • A team player who can also work independently and take initiative
  • Committed to improving outcomes for children and young people
