Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Acocks Green (B27) for a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children at the beginning of their educational journey. Working within a Reception class, you will play a key role in helping pupils settle into school life, develop their confidence and achieve their early learning goals.

You will work closely with the class teacher to support children through play-based learning, phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities, as well as helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment. The school is looking for someone who is proactive, nurturing and committed to supporting every child's development.

About the Role

  • September start
  • Based in Acocks Green (B27)
  • Support teaching and learning within a Reception class
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups
  • Assist with phonics, early reading, writing and numeracy activities
  • Encourage children's social, emotional and educational development
  • Help maintain a positive, safe and engaging classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working within a Reception or EYFS setting is essential
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach
  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Confident supporting children through play-based learning
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, adaptable and proactive
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
