Supply Heroes are recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school in Birmingham for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals within a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, adapting activities where required and promoting independence, wellbeing and positive behaviour. The school is looking for someone who is patient, resilient and committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children with SEN.
About the Role
- September start
- Based in Birmingham
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil needs
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential
- Experience working within a primary school setting is desirable
- A patient, caring and resilient approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to support pupils with a range of additional needs
- Flexible, reliable and enthusiastic
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
